Branxholm is CMTP's Tasmanian sawmill and manufacturing site, in the heart of the state's timber country in the north-east. Timber is milled here from Tasmanian logs and built into pallets, crates, cases and produce bins on the same site, so the whole job is done in one place, from the log to the finished product.
Local manufacturing matters more in Tasmania than in most states because every alternative involves a sea freight leg. A pallet ordered from a mainland supplier carries the cost and lead time of Bass Strait shipping. A pallet milled and built at Branxholm doesn't.

Branxholm is a small town in the Dorset Council area, on the Ringarooma River in Tasmania’s north-east, around 90km from Launceston along the Tasman Highway. The town has been built around the local sawmill and timber industry for generations, with agriculture and food production filling out the rest of the economy. Timber remains one of the core sectors in north-east Tasmania, and the Blue Derby mountain bike trails in neighbouring Derby have made tourism a growing part of the local economy since they opened in 2015.

Dale has worked in the timber industry for 35 years, the last 10 at CMTP, and oversees both Tasmanian sites. He works directly with customers on anything custom or out of the ordinary, from timber specification through to finished builds for the north-east Tasmanian market.
We supply north-east Tasmania and the broader Tasmanian market, with freight to the mainland via Bass Strait.
