What we produce at CMTP Scottsdale
CMTP Scottsdale is our timber treatment plant in Tasmania’s north-east, working alongside our Branxholm sawmill just up the road. It treats post peelers for farmers, vineyards, landscapers and fencing contractors across the region, and whether it’s a new fence line, a vineyard trellis or a landscaping job, every post is treated to stand up to Tasmanian conditions. A post in the ground is up against moisture, soil and insects every day of its life, and treatment gives it a working life measured in decades, not seasons. Having the plant in the north-east keeps treated posts on hand locally, without a trip across Bass Strait.
Timber treatment
Posts are treated on site before they go out, so there’s no extra freight leg or handover along the way. For Tasmanian customers, that means treated posts in the sizes and volumes you need, without waiting on mainland stock.

About the Scottsdale area
CMTP Scottsdale is our timber treatment plant in north-east Tasmania, and the group’s dedicated plant for treating post peelers. It works alongside our Branxholm sawmill just up the road, supplying treated posts to farmers, vineyards, landscapers and fencing contractors across the north-east and the rest of the state. A post in the ground is up against moisture, soil and insects every day of its life, and treatment is what gives it a working life measured in decades, not seasons. Because posts are treated on site before they go out, Tasmanian customers get them in the sizes and volumes they need, without waiting on mainland stock or a trip across Bass Strait. Scottsdale is one of 11 CMTP sites nationally, all part of the same family-owned business.
