CMTP Glendenning builds timber pallets, crates, cases and produce bins in western Sydney, right off the M4 and M7, and it's the team's specialist site for animal crates. Everything from goats and sheep through to zoo animals has travelled in a Glendenning crate, each one built around the animal, how it's being moved and where it's going. The site also supplies corrosion protection packaging and produce bins for growers across the Hawkesbury and the Sydney basin, all made on site rather than trucked in.

What's the difference between a timber pallet and an export pallet?
An export pallet is a timber pallet that has been heat treated and certified to ISPM 15, which is what lets it leave the country. Any solid timber packaging heading overseas has to meet it. If your freight stays in Australia a standard wooden pallet does the job. If it is going on a ship or a plane it needs to be an export pallet.
What's the difference between a case and a crate?
A crate is an open slatted timber container, a case is fully enclosed. Crates are lighter and cheaper for robust goods. Cases give more protection for anything fragile, dust or moisture sensitive, or high value. The Glendenning team will tell you which one suits the job.
Are your cases and crates suitable for export?
Yes. Cases and crates built for international freight are ISPM 15 certified, the same as export pallets. Heavy or oversize machinery is a common use, and those builds are engineered to the load rather than pulled off a shelf.
What is corrosion protection packaging?
It’s packaging designed to stop metal components and machinery corroding while in storage or transit. It covers the barrier materials and treatments used alongside timber packaging, and it earns its place wherever goods sit for a while before use or travel through humidity and salt air.
When should I use corrosion protection packaging?
Any time you’re moving or storing bare metal, machined components, tooling or machinery, and particularly on long transit times or export freight. It matters for anything sitting in a western Sydney warehouse before it moves, and for export freight heading out through Port Botany.
Can CMTP design a pallet or crate for an unusual product?
