The Australian standard 1165 x 1165 pallet is the most common order, alongside Euro and US export footprints. Colac also builds to custom dimensions where a standard footprint doesn’t suit the product or the container. Tell the team the load, the handling equipment and the destination and they’ll spec it.

An export pallet is a timber pallet that has been heat treated and certified to ISPM 15, which is what lets it leave the country. Any solid timber packaging heading overseas has to meet it. If your freight stays in Australia a standard wooden pallet does the job. If it is going on a ship or a plane it needs to be an export pallet.

A crate is an open slatted timber container, a case is fully enclosed. Crates are lighter and cheaper for robust goods. Cases give more protection for anything fragile, dust or moisture sensitive, or high value. The Colac team will tell you which one suits the job.

Yes. Cases and crates built for international freight are ISPM 15 certified, the same as export pallets. Heavy or oversize machinery is a common use, and those builds are engineered to the load rather than pulled off a shelf.

Yes. Produce bins and bulk bins are a core part of the Colac order book. Wooden bins protect perishable goods and keep produce fresher for longer, and they’re a sustainable alternative to plastic. Bins are built to suit growers’ handling requirements, including one tonne, half tonne and quarter tonne capacities, and can be designed to your own specification where a standard bin doesn’t fit the operation.

Yes, provided they’re ISPM 15 certified. Any solid timber packaging leaving Australia has to meet ISPM 15, and that applies to produce bins and bulk bins the same way it applies to pallets. CMTP manufactures ISPM 15 certified timber packaging, so bins destined for international freight are treated and marked to comply. Tell the Colac team the destination market when you order, because some countries add their own requirements on top of ISPM 15.
