CMTP Clontarf is our bayside Brisbane pallet manufacturer on the Redcliffe Peninsula, building timber pallets, crates, cases and produce bins for businesses across Moreton Bay and bayside Brisbane. The peninsula has a different industrial character to Brisbane’s northern corridor, with more light manufacturing, food and produce, and the order book reflects it. Produce bins are a big part of the work, supplying growers across Moreton Bay and south-east Queensland’s farming districts. Clontarf also supplies corrosion protection packaging for metal goods stored or shipped in the salt air around the coast, which is steady work for a site on the water.

The peninsula has a different industrial character to Brendale: lighter manufacturing, retail, automotive, and a historical fishing and prawning industry, paired with a tourism economy that brings around 1.2 million visitors a year. Moreton Bay as a region is building toward a $40 billion economy by 2041 under the council’s economic strategy, with Brendale and Clontarf playing different roles in that plan. Where Brendale serves the heavier industrial corridor, Clontarf is built around the smaller, faster-moving orders that suit the peninsula’s mix of food, retail and light manufacturing businesses. As the region grows, having pallets, crates and produce bins made locally on the bay keeps those businesses supplied without relying on stock from across Brisbane.

The Australian standard 1165 x 1165 pallet is the most common order, alongside Euro and US export footprints. Clontarf also builds to custom dimensions where a standard footprint doesn’t suit the product or the container. Tell the team the load, the handling equipment and the destination and they’ll spec it.
An export pallet is a timber pallet that has been heat treated and certified to ISPM 15, which is what lets it leave the country. Any solid timber packaging heading overseas has to meet it. If your freight stays in Australia a standard wooden pallet does the job. If it is going on a ship or a plane it needs to be an export pallet.
A crate is an open slatted timber container, a case is fully enclosed. Crates are lighter and cheaper for robust goods. Cases give more protection for anything fragile, dust or moisture sensitive, or high value. The Clontarf team will tell you which one suits the job.
Yes. Cases and crates built for international freight are ISPM 15 certified, the same as export pallets. Heavy or oversize machinery is a common use, and those builds are engineered to the load rather than pulled off a shelf.
It’s packaging designed to stop metal components and machinery corroding while in storage or transit. It covers the barrier materials and treatments used alongside timber packaging, and it earns its place wherever goods sit for a while before use or travel through humidity and salt air.
