Bulk bins are large corrugated cardboard boxes fixed to a pallet base, built to move and store big volumes of product in one unit. They’re strong, durable and collapsible, which makes them a lighter, space-saving alternative to timber crates for many jobs. Our bulk bins are made at our Derrimut and Dandenong South sites. But can be easily transported to anywhere in Australia.
Bulk bins are used across a range of industries, especially automotive, where they carry parts and components between suppliers and assembly plants. They’re also used for exporting large volumes of goods, where a single bin replaces dozens of smaller cartons, cutting handling time and packaging waste.
We make three standard bulk bins. Bulk Bin 1 is 1160 x 1160 x 1050mm externally (1140 x 1140 x 900mm inside). Bulk Bin 2 is 1100 x 1100 x 800mm externally (1080 x 1080 x 670mm inside). Bulk Bin 3 is 1160 x 770 x 660mm externally (1140 x 750 x 530mm inside). Each size is designed to load efficiently into shipping containers.
Each bin is designed around an efficient container load pattern. Bulk Bin 1 loads 2 across and 2 high, Bulk Bin 2 loads 2 across and 3 high, and Bulk Bin 3 loads 3 across and 3 high. Choosing the right bin for your product means more goods per container and lower freight cost per unit.
A walk-in front is a panel at the front of the bin that opens, so workers can load and unload from the side instead of reaching over the top. It’s safer, faster and easier on backs, especially as the bin empties. Bulk Bin 1 comes with a walk-in front, a twin cushion outer sleeve, an internal liner and a cushioned lid.
Our bulk bins combine corrugated cardboard with a pallet base. Bulk Bins 2 and 3 are composite corrugated cardboard and timber bulk packs, and Bulk Bin 1 sits on a medium-duty export pallet. Pairing cardboard walls with a solid base gives you strength where it counts, while keeping the overall bin light. At the end of its life, the cardboard can go straight into standard recycling.
Yes. Bulk bins are well suited to exporting large volumes of product, and Bulk Bin 1 is built on a medium-duty export pallet. Any solid timber in the base can be heat treated and ISPM 15 stamped, so the bins clear biosecurity at the destination without delays.
Our bulk bins are corrugated cardboard bins on a pallet base, built for moving parts and goods through manufacturing and export supply chains. Our produce bins are solid timber bins built for farms, packing sheds and cool stores, where they last 15 to 20 years. If you’re storing fruit or vegetables, you’ll want our produce bins.
Yes. Alongside our three standard sizes, we can design bulk bins to suit your product’s dimensions, weight and handling, including liners, cushioning and lids. Tell us what you’re moving and how it travels, and the team will recommend a standard bin or design one to fit.

We have a very busy business sending expensive and delicate joinery around the world, which needs to be wrapped and crated for maximum protection. We looked around and most crate building companies wanted a minimum 2 week turn around, which we found didn’t always work for us, then by chance we found CMTP group. Not only does Kieran and CMTP go out of their way on customer service, but their turnaround is very obliging, and their prices are competitive as well. Oh, and they only use certified export grade materials, so there’s no quarantine troubles at the other end. We would not hesitate in recommending this company.
