A crane pallet is a heavy-duty, engineered timber platform built to be lifted by crane, so building materials and equipment can be moved up a structure or across a site. It’s used where a forklift can’t reach or where the load has to go up several storeys. Our crane pallets are designed by certified engineers and built for the demands of construction and industrial sites.
Our standard crane pallets come in four sizes: 3600 x 600mm, 3600 x 1200mm, 3600 x 1350mm and 4800 x 1350mm. The longer platforms suit timber, steel, formwork and other long materials, while the narrower sizes suit tighter sites and smaller loads. If you need a different size, we can design and build one to suit.
All our crane pallets are certified for a static load of 5,000kg and a dynamic load of 2,500kg. That means the pallet can hold 5,000kg sitting on the ground, but no more than 2,500kg while it’s being lifted and moved. Always work to the dynamic rating when planning a lift.
Static load is the weight a pallet can safely hold while it’s resting on the ground. Dynamic load is the weight it can safely hold while it’s moving, such as being lifted by a crane or carried by a forklift. Lifting adds extra force from acceleration, swing and sudden stops, so the dynamic rating is always lower. For crane lifts, the dynamic rating is the one that counts.
Our crane pallets are built from seasoned MGP12 timber, a machine-graded structural pine that’s tested and rated for strength and stiffness. It’s the same grade used in house framing. Seasoning keeps the timber stable, so it won’t twist or shrink once it’s on site, and the whole pallet is held together with 150mm galvanised bolts.
The metal protection strips on the top and bottom surfaces stop the timber being damaged by forklift tynes and chain slings. That’s where most crane pallet wear happens. The strips protect the timber, keep the pallet in service longer and help it hold its certified load rating over time.
Yes. Our crane pallets are designed by certified engineers specifically for the construction industry, and they’re certified for a static load of 5,000kg and a dynamic load of 2,500kg. Each one is built from structural-grade MGP12 timber with galvanised bolts and metal protection strips, giving site managers the specifications they need for lift planning.
Crane pallets are designed to be lifted by crane using chain slings, and moved on the ground by forklift. Keep the load evenly spread and secured, stay within the 2,500kg dynamic rating, and follow your site’s lift plan. Check the pallet before every lift, and take it out of service if you find cracked timber, loose bolts or damaged strips.
